Engenius first installed our commercial Solar PV system in February 2012 with a nominal output of 6.7kW. What impressed us originally was that they came at it with very much a knowledgeable engineering approach and were able to give us realistic generation forecasts and assurance about the robustness of the installation in a windy coastal environment with winter storms (at the time the market was full of solar PV sales companies ahead of the change in the feed in tariff, none of whom were able to give us similar assurances, and were selling pie in the sky forecasts as to generation and return on investment). We also engaged Engenius to temporarily remove and replace the installation during the building of a new extension which they did quickly to fit in with critical timings of the other contractors and at reasonable cost.

I used Engenius to install PV panels some years ago, and when I decided to move house last year I unhesitatingly decided to use them again. Gone are the days of generous Feed-in Tariffs, but installing PV panels just seems the right thing to do for the planet, and by including a battery system I hope to generate and store a good proportion of the electricity I need. They are great people to deal with – knowledgeable but not at all pushy, pay good attention to detail and helped me to decide on the most appropriate set-up for my situation. We first met Engenius in 2007 when they installed our PV array, it being one of their first solar installations on the mainland. Your technicians were absolutely delightful to deal with and be around. They were professional, courteous and thorough. Last year we approached several companies to quote for the supply and fitting of solar panels and a domestic battery for our self-build property. We had a fairly clear idea of what we needed, but several suppliers had arrived and in fairly short order would tell us – “what you need is…” In contrast, we were particularly impressed with Engenius – an Island-based company – because they spent several hours working with us, understanding what we wanted and discussing several options in terms of equipment. We wanted the maximum number of panels we could fit on the roof, and a decent-sized domestic battery. The two energy stores were to be the hot water tank, and the battery in that order. Any excess would go to the grid. Recognising that our scaffolding would be coming down in six weeks, Engenius split the work into three phases and were promptly on site. The first was to secure the panels to the roof and work with us to route the necessary cables to the plant room. The second phase was to install the control equipment, and once the battery was available the third phase was to complete the installation. At every stage of the process, Engenius kept us fully informed and were always prepared to explain what they were doing. The quality of their work was exceptional, particularly how the meticulous wiring complimented the neat pipework in the plant room. We would recommend Engenius without reservation, and if a serious future client wishes to come and look at our system (by appointment) – they would be most welcome.
